King Sawmunnit

Ruling Years : A.D (1325 - 1368)

King Sawmunnit was the last king to rule the Bagan dynasty. He ascended the throne after his father's death in 1325. He was the 55th king of Bagan. He became the king at the age of 21 and ruled for 38 years.

At that time, the Bagan king was starting to lose power and influence over the regions of the empire. The Myinsai Shan brothers became more powerful and popular at that time. This was leading to the end of the Bagan dynasty. There was not very much evidence of King Sawmunnit. But in Inwa, the new city was established by King Thadoo Minphyar. The Inwa dynasty became more and more powerful. King Saw Mon Nit died at the age of 59.
